| METHODS AND MATERIALS: |
| Starter Fertilizer Application: Six gallons per acre GoldStart 6-24-6 liquid starter fertilizer. |
| Plant population: 32,984 seeds per acre. |
| Planting Dates: April 15-27, 2006 |
| Harvest Dates: October 9-22, 2006 |
| Nitrogen: Split application of 28% UAN. |
| Herbicides: ½ rate Guardsman Max pre-emerge, 24 ounce generic Round-Up post. |
| Location: Northeast Iowa. |
| RESULTS: All hybrids responded with a higher yield due to the addition of GoldStart 6-24-6. Average yield increase was 5.85 bushel/acre. All hybrids responded with drier grain at harvest due to the addition of GoldStart 6-24-6. The average moisture decrease was more than one full percentage point at 1.1%. |
