| METHODS AND MATERIALS: |
| Starter Fertilizer Application Rate: GoldStart 9-18-9 at 5 gallons per acre. |
| Plant population: 32,984 seeds per acre. |
| Nitrogen: 105 lbs per acre pre-emerge, 45 lbs per acre sidedress. 28% UAN used in both applications. |
| Planter: John Deere 12 row vacuum with 30 inch rows. |
| Plot Size: ¼ and ½ mile long by 15 foot per variety. |
| Herbicides: Steadfast Callisto on conventional corn, Dow generic glyphosate on Roundup Ready® corn. |
| Location: Northeast Iowa. |
| RESULTS: All hybrids responded with a higher yield due to the addition of GoldStart 9-18-9. Average yield increase was 8.5 bushel/acre. Most hybrids responded with drier grain at harvest due to the addition of GoldStart 9-18-9. The average moisture decrease was nearly one full percentage point at 0.93%. |
